PICKENS COUNTY, Ga. – The Pickens County Sheriff’s Office assisted the Georgia State Patrol and Jasper Police Department on Jan. 14, leading to the arrest of William Fields.
Fields led police in a high-speed pursuit through Pickens County before he was eventually captured and arrested.
Pickens County Sheriff’s Office applauded the teamwork the multiple agencies showed to be able to bring the incident ‘to a safe resolution’.
According to PCSO, “following the incident, a collaborative investigation by the Pickens Sheriff’s Office and the Cherokee Multi-Agency Narcotics Squad (CMANS) led to the discovery of over 7 ounces of Methamphetamine and other illegal narcotics.”
Fields was charged with feeling and eluding police, driving on a suspended license, DUI, and multiple narcotic related offenses.
”This is a significant step in keeping our community safe from dangerous drugs and those who distribute them,” stated Pickens County Sheriff’s Office.
