PRESS RELEASE – CMANS Agents, with the assistance of Pickens Sheriff’s Office Deputies and K9 Storm, continue to crack down on dangerous drug activity in our community.
On May 20th, Agents had deputies conduct a traffic stop on Gerald Cornett as part of an ongoing investigation into methamphetamine distribution in Pickens County.
Following a positive alert by K9 Storm, approximately 1 pound of methamphetamine, a loaded firearm, and other controlled substances (pills) were recovered from the vehicle.
Gerald Cornett and passenger Faye Jimenez were arrested and charged with:
Trafficking Methamphetamine
Possession of a Controlled Substance
Tampering with Evidence
Possession of a Firearm During a Felony
Cornett also faces an additional charge of Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon.
