Last Night, the PHS football team held the end of season banquet at Chattahoochee Technical College’s Appalachian campus. The evening consisted of celebration and looking back on what was one of the most successful football seasons in PHS history. From finishing at 8-3, to making the playoffs for the first time since 2005, and hosting a playoff game for the first time since 2004, and of course beating Gilmer for the first time in five years. Last Friday, the Dragons hosted the Bruins of NW Whitfield at Dragon Stadium in a region showdown. The Dragons looked to even up their region record at 1-1 after losing a close game to Ridgeland the week prior. Before the ball game, the JYSA football players, coaches, and cheerleaders were recognized in front of a packed house as Dragon Nation would envoke a pink out in honor of breast cancer awareness month. The Bruins would win the toss and would differ to the 2nd half giving the Dragons first crack at putting points on the board.
The Pickens High School Dragons football team welcomed the Vikings of East Hall to Dragon Stadium. The stands were packed with green and white on a great night to watch high school football. The home town fans were in for a treat as the Dragons lit fire to he Vikings with a 38-10 drubbing that saw Kyle West break the school single game sack record, with three and a half. (more…)
The Pickens High School Dragons football team traveled to Cleveland, Ga to battle the Warriors of White County. The Dragons burnt the Warriors’ with a 42-34 win in the opening game of the 2014 season. (more…)
The Pickens Dragons got the job done in their homecoming game against the Cass Colonels on Friday night, as the offense racked up 362 yards and the defense forced five turnovers in a 43-27 victory that gave the Dragons a 4-1 record on the year and a 1-0 record to start sub-region play. (more…)
The Pickens Dragons had a memorable Homecoming game on Friday night against the Johnson Knights, as the Dragons outscored the Knights 28-7 in the second half of the game on their way to a 49-21 victory. (more…)
The Pickens High School Dragons hosted the Bulldogs of Cedartown, and despite scoring the game’s first touchdown following a fumble recovered by John Massey, the Dragons were drug by the Bulldogs in a 48-27 thorough thrashing. (more…)
The Pickens High School Dragons hosted the Spartans of West Hall in a preseason scrimmage. The Dragons were victorious, posting a 28-16 win. The Dragons were lead by a defense that recorded three turnovers, including sack/fumbles on two straight possessions. (more…)
