The Pickens High School North Georgia Soccer Classic was won by the Dragons for the second straight year. The Dragonettes finished second, to Lafayette. Both the Dragonettes and Dragons secured their places with wins over region rival, Gilmer High School. Lafayette was the third participant, with the Lady Ramblers taking first place and the Ramblers taking second. (more…)

Last Saturday, the Dragons varsity basketball team made the trip up 515 to Blue Ridge to take on the Rebels of Fannin in non region play. Pickens, who has suffered several losses in close games as of late, looked to pick up a road win as they begin the final stretch towards the end of the regular season. (more…)
Last Tuesday, the Dragons traveled to LaFayette High School to take on the Ramblers in the opening game of region play. The Dragons came into the ball game riding high after going undefeated in the annual Thanksgiving tournament in Ellijay and looked to continue that momentum into region play.
Last Tuesday, the Dragons varsity basketball team traveled back to Gilmer High School to take on the host team, the Bobcats, in the final game of the Thanksgiving tournament. Bragging rights were at stake as well as a tournament title. If the Dragons came out victorious, they would be tournament champs. If Gilmer defeated the Dragons, there would be a three way tie for first.
The Pickens High School Dragons football team traveled to LaFayette High School to take on the Ramblers. This game was the first road game for Pickens since September 19th. It was also be the first meeting between the two teams. LaFayette’s Homecoming would serve as the backdrop for this game; however, the celebration was short lived as the Dragons’ offense roasted the Ramblers to the tune of 69 points, en route Pickens picking up the 69-34 win.
The Picken High School Dragons football team hosted the Raiders of Southeast Whitfield at Dragon Stadium. Coming into this ball game, the Dragons was 4-1 overall and 1-1 in the region while the Raiders was a perfect 5-0 and 2-0 in region play. The Dragons, coming off of a big home win against Northwest Whitfield, looked to continue that momentum and drop the Raiders from the ranks of the unbeaten. The game was the Homecoming at PHS which would only add to the excitement of the night. The Dragons’ offense scorched the Raiders to the tune of 62 points as Pickens picked up the 62-40 win over SEW.
