Sheriff’s Office Confirms Threats Related to Transgender Bathrooms

JASPER, GA – Pickens County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed the several reports of threats and safety concerns regarding the now suspended transgender bathroom procedure at Pickens County Schools.

The Sheriff’s Office has been actively involved in a couple of incidents listed below.

On Thursday, October 10th,  a student made two statements on social media. One encouraged other students to lash out in violence against other students. The second statement was generic but referred to individuals that signed a petition making good target practice. The student called individuals who signed the petition against the transgender bathroom policy, “transphobic.”

Within an hour of the post, deputies were with the student and parents at the student’s home. Following the investigation, the student was charged as a juvenile with disorderly conduct.

During the following days, Pickens Sheriff’s office has received two reports of threatening graffiti found in Pickens High School bathrooms. One piece used images to illustrate an anti-gay viewpoint while the other depicted an anti-transgender stance. Both instances occurred before the Monday meeting.

At the high school, two students have reported bullying issues to School Resource Officers (SRO). These issues were investigated by administrators and deputies and appropriate disciplinary action has been taken.

SRO officers are also investigating the rumors of boys peeing in the girls’ restrooms and in the hallways. However, at this time, camera footage doesn’t substantiate these claims. Neither have they found evidence of someone defecating in front of the school.

One instance of possible urination may have in fact been another liquid due to the highly trafficked area, where it supposedly occurred. It wouldn’t have been easy for someone to use the bathroom in that area without being noticed.

The sheriff’s office is also investigating threatening calls and social media posts that were made to school administrators and at least one board member. A detective is working the case to determine the nature of the threats made and identify where they originated. At this time, it’s too early to tell the type of threat that was made. The detective is working to try and identify the caller and what actually happened, so they can take appropriate action. These calls started on Thursday but weren’t reported until later.

Pickens Sheriff’s Office intends to take every threat or vandalism seriously in order to protect the school system. Deputies are constantly monitoring the school and have heightened security in place.

The school reinstated separate male and female restrooms on Oct. 16. Last week, in an administrative action, a transgender bathroom rule was put into place that allowed students to use the bathroom that they identify with. However, after a three-hour public forum on Monday, the school went back to the previous procedure for transgender students to use the nurse’s or teacher’s lounge bathroom.

Separate boys or girls bathroom procedure reinstated

JASPER, GA – In a statement issued on Oct. 16, Pickens County Schools (PCS) announced that the district is returning to its original bathroom procedure due to safety concerns for the students.

Girls will go into the girls’ bathroom, boys will use the boys’ restroom, and transgendered students will have the option to use the teacher’s lounge or nurse’s bathroom.

Last week, PCS changed its bathroom procedure to allow students to use whichever bathroom that they identify with. The issue was met with extensive resistance in the community. Almost 50 members of the community spoke out about their feelings surrounding the issue to the Board of Education on Monday. Oct. 14.

In its statement, PCS said:

There have been many serious safety concerns raised in the past few days. School board members, staff, and students have been threatened due to the administration’s implementation of Adams vs. St. John’s County School District. There have been death threats, student harassment, and vandalism of school property. The District understands and acknowledges that it has the responsibility to protect its staff and students. However, the District has concerns that it may not be able to meet these recently increased demands.

Therefore, the District shall return to bathroom procedures in place at the beginning of the 2019-2020 school year until it can consult with law enforcement and other safety professionals so that these concerns may be addressed.

PCS asks that all of its stakeholders exercise patience and discretion until these matters can be resolved.

Additionally, Superintendent Dr. Carlton Wilson stated:

“This is not a Pickens County issue.  It is not a north Georgia issue or a southern issue.  This is a national
issue and it is ripping apart the very fabric of public education making it virtually impossible for schools
to do what they are supposed to do – educating our children.

We are calling for strong leadership at the state level, as well as the national level, as schools and communities continue to grapple with issues like fighting expensive lawsuits and diverting valuable resources from what should be our only focus – educating our children.”

Superintendent Wilson Suspends Transgender Restroom Procedure

transgender restoom procedure

JASPER, GA – Citizens of Pickens County packed out the high school’s performing arts center to voice their opposition and support of the new transgender restroom procedure, leading Superintendent Wilson to temporarily suspend the administrative action.

The meeting scheduled to last only two hours went well into the three-hour mark as close to 50 parents, students, and citizens passionately discussed their opinions on the transgender restroom procedure enacted last week.

You can watch the entire transgender restroom procedure public forum below.

Approximately 800 people came out to hear Wilson’s response to their concerns during the public discussion. Wilson asked everyone in attendance to remember that each student is a child with the right to be listened to, nurtured and loved.

Many cited faith, safety, and bullying as their main concerns about the change in policy.

“I would never in my life use a restroom in which a female is in,” said Nathan Barfield, a veteran, and father of two, “No person’s rights are more important than anyone else. My son has a huge heart and he doesn’t want to say anything for fear that he is going to be labeled a bully.”

The audience burst into an uproar of applause after Barfield’s comments.

Supporter Kayla Hollyfield spoke out, “You should be able to use any restroom that you want to use. This is not about left or right. It’s about equal rights. It’s not an agenda.”

Throughout the meeting, speakers were interrupted by their opposition and later on for calls for Wilson to answer the growing list of concerns that the school’s attorney added to with every speaker.

The administration kept a running list of concerns with every speaker during the policy hearing. One even suggested documenting all transgender students, so everyone would know who could go into which restroom.

The administration kept a running list about all the concerns from citizens and parents.

Wilson stated that with the current procedure teachers could ask students going to the bathroom if they identified as a boy or girl before entering.

Kino Ciel Stanfield quietly approached the podium and revealed that he a 2017 Pickens graduate is a transgendered individual. He began the transition process soon after graduating from Pickens County High.

“To transition isn’t something taken lightly,” he said. “I spoke to doctors and specialists and we came to the conclusion that this was best for me.”

He expressed discomfort with using the boy’s restroom while in high school, not only for himself but for his younger siblings as well. Stanfield wanted everyone to be comfortable, which came at the expense of his gender identity.

Stanfield used the single stall nurse’s restroom and teacher’s lounge bathroom while at school because it was easier. This option is offered to every transgender student at Pickens High School.

Out of the nearly 50 speakers, only a handful had recently graduated from PCS. Some parents expressed concern that their children didn’t want to speak out on the issue for fear of retaliation from both sides.

Superintendent Dr. Wilson addressed this, “I don’t understand the feeling either from students or adults that anything they say or have an opinion about would be retaliated against. I don’t want anyone here tonight not to speak because they feel intimidated.”

The crowd broke out in laughter at Wilson’s comments because no one believed this issue wouldn’t result in some form of retaliation from one group or the other.

One student made a threat against those opposing the policy on social media on Friday, Oct. 11, and Pickens County Sheriff’s Office promptly handled the situation.

At 8:45 p.m., Wilson addressed the crowd saying he would review everyone’s concerns and issue a press release with his decision over the next couple of days. However, for now, the transgender restroom procedure has been suspended.

Wilson told Fetch Your News that he would weigh everyone’s comments and make his decision soon. He didn’t reveal in which direction he was leaning.

Legal Perspective

Dr. Wilson apologized for misspeaking on a news outlet that the circuit 11 court system mandated the transgender bathrooms for schools. In fact, the ruling hasn’t gone into effect yet. The lower courts that heard the case before the 11 Circuit Court of Appeals found that not allowing a transgender student to use the bathroom that they identify with is sex discrimination.

Transgender is defined as an umbrella term for people whose gender identity and/or expression is different from cultural expectations based on the sex they were assigned at birth. It does not correlate with any specific sexual orientation or sex. Gender represents one’s sense of self and how they want to be perceived by the world. Sex relates to a person’s biological status either male, female, or intersex.

As of June 2018, 18 states and the District of Columbia have passed anti-discrimination laws to protect transgender people. Currently, Georgia is not one of those 18 states.

According to Ballotpedia, at least two other school systems have faced lawsuits dealing with transgender bathroom policy. Grimm v. Gloucester County School Board began when a transgender male sued the school for instituting a policy that prohibited transgender individuals from using the bathroom with which they identify. Grimm argued the school system violated Title IX, a federal law prohibiting gender discrimination in schools that receive federal funding.

In a January 7, 2015 letter, The U.S. Department of Education interpreted this ban on gender discrimination included discrimination against people based on their gender identities and their use of bathrooms.

Grimm lost the initial decision but won a 2 to 1 decision in Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals that affirmed the U.S. Department of Education’s decision to interpret Title IX. As of 2017, the case was remanded back to the fourth circuit after new guidance from the Department of Justice and the Department of Education.

Doe v. Regional School Unit 26 holds the distinction of being the first case where a state court ruled that a trans-student could use the bathroom that they choose. The Supreme Court of Maine overturned lower court rulings on the basis of the state’s anti-discrimination laws.

Citizens of Pickens County have stated that they are prepared to go into legal battle with the school to prevent transgender bathrooms from coming to Pickens High School.

Termites (Democrats) in the House

Opinion

Termites (Democrats) in the House
Democrat Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi is in California conniving with the fruitcake politicians at the California Democrat State Convention. Succumbing to the raucous chants of “Impeach, Impeach,” Nancy was obligated to agree to move in the direction of impeaching Donald Trump. Every story has a “but” behind it. But, hidden in the context of her rhetoric, she argued for building an “ironclad case” to begin impeachment proceedings against Trump.

It will die there because Nancy knows she will never, ever obtain anything “Ironclad” to remove the President let alone place a case before Senate Majority Leader, Mitch McConnell, that would even be considered let alone voted on. That leavers her the excuse she needs to beg off and do nothing, and she knows it.

The Democrats impeachment mantra, if pursued, very probably may destroy the Democrat Party as we know it. In the debris left in the wake of its demise, there will still be the radical Progressives, including most of those now running to be Democrat candidate to replace Trump. The slogging will be long, hard and arduous because they have no plans to carry America forward, except socialism. They are bereft of any vision to increase America’s productivity to levels higher than President Trump has brought them. They have nothing and they will lose!

The Democrat Party has work like termites in an old house to eat the core out of what made America Great. The great Termite Party made welfare a Right, not education to learn and advance, but a necessity to survive. Welfare was used specifically to enslave Americans of African Descent by destroying the Black nuclear family. The male head of the family must be employed or not in the household, otherwise, no welfare for the family. Thus, we have still have single Black mothers as heads of household with the uninvolved male hanging around to breed, leaving the fatherless household without male guidance, without hope and no future.

As a remedy, the party of Termites inflicted upon us their “Affirmative Action“ scheme thus reducing the quality of American production and all but destroying Americas once thriving “work ethic.” By their Progressivism, they have turned Americas Judeo-Christian codes of social morality to dust by characterizing Christian churches and the families who attended them as ignorant “clingers.” To compound the rot, the Termite Party has intruded into nearly every American youth program to modify children’s behavior by glorifying homosexuality, perversion and transgenderism as natural acts of love, debasing at the same time any moral objections on the grounds a silly premise and a false notion, It’s the “I’m okay, you’re okay!” mantra.!

To the rising crescendo of “Impeach, Impeach,” apart from her idiotic anti-Trump comments, Pelosi said: “President Trump will be held accountable for his actions. In the Congress, in the courts, and in the court of public opinion, we will defend our democracy.” When the said: “Our Democracy” she treads on a narrow path. Conservatives, especially those few left in the Republican Party, should cease using the word Democracy. The Democrats have ruined it, like the word “Gay!” Democracy means majority rule. The word is not found in the Constitution. Simply put, Democracy is “two wolves and a sheep discussing what to have for dinner.”

The Termite Party never expected the results of their rigged 2016 election. They got instead, a non-politician with practical business acumen to Make America Great Again and their program to “democratize” has thrown them totally off kilter. In their futile attempts to repair the damage, they only expose more of their hypocrisy. How do we get rid of Termites?
Remember, freedom is the goal, the Constitution is the way. Now, go get ‘em!

Changing the Toxic Environment of Fox News

Politics

All the major media outlets are abuzz over Fox’s recent release of Bill O’Reilly and what is being called the toxic environment of the network. You would think the toxicity would be sexual harassment considering the accusations towards Roger Ailes and recently Bill O’Reilly. Not that we don’t think that the accusations about O’Reilly and Ailes could be true, and yes Fox has had to pay out millions of dollars to settle several lawsuits. However that is not the toxic environment that James and Lachlan Murdoch are genuinely trying to change at Fox News. Fox News has been known over the last 20 years as the conservative media alternative to CNN and MSNBC.

Before turning the power over to his two sons, Rupert Murdoch sided with anything Roger Ailes wanted to do. Why not, when the network is the number one and is bringing in a billion dollars? The two sons have much more liberal views. In fact James and his progressive minded wife Katherine, have long been embarrassed of certain elements of Fox News. They trash Donald Trump on their Twitter feed quite often. It is very clear that the goal is to move Fox News to the left. The remaining talent at Fox makes a pretty good paycheck and it’s best to seem they are satisfied with the new direction the company is going.

The coveted 8 o’clock times slot now belongs to the Fox News, up and coming superstar, Tucker Carlson. What better way to say you are going in the total opposite direction, no pun intended, than Bill O’Reilly is to have your first guest be (Bruce) Caitlyn Jenner. Jenner not only identifies not only as a female now but also as a Republican. Really? That’s who Tucker picked for his first debut guest or is this a clear signal for Carlson’s conservative viewers to see transgender, Republican tolerance. Now that’s what I call changing the direction of the network.
