The Operation Roundup program, funded through the generosity of Amicalola EMC members, wrapped up its 2011 contributions with an impressive $32,835 in donations to charitable organizations and needy individuals in our local communities. This brings the total contributions for this year to just under $100,000. Since the program began in 1999, $1.5 million has been given back to area charities and individuals. All donations are used for food, shelter, clothing, health needs, education or specialty needs.
For pennies a month, usually less than the price of a candy bar, you too can help make life more comfortable for those less fortunate.
