My name is Rena Fleming Kirk and I am excited to announce my candidacy for the office of Clerk of Superior Court in the July Republican Primary. My family and are lifelong residents of Pickens County. My husband Randy and I have been married for 35 years and he is employed with Pickens County Public Works. We have two daughters and sons-in-law, Erika and Tommy Jones of Nelson and Jodi and Zach Thomas of Jasper. We are also blessed with three beautiful grandchildren, Emily, Ashtyn and Levi. My parents are Bobby and Marilyn Fleming of Jasper.
I received my Associates degree from Appalachian Tech in 2001. I found my calling in working with the public. I previously worked with the Pickens County Board of Education for 21 years before moving on to a position with Ellijay Telephone Company that I held for 12 years. I am currently employed by the Pickens County Tax Commissioner’s Office.
I look forward to applying my experience with the public to being a clerk that you will find comfortable to work with, trustworthy and accountable to you. I will strive to uphold the integrity of the court and judicial system while offering support to the citizens. If elected your clerk, my door will always be open.
I look forward to meeting and talking with you over the next several months. I appreciate your support and your vote in the July primary. I hope that your decision is sought in prayer as I desire the best candidate for each and every local, state and national race in 2012. May God bless you all.
