OPTIMIST CLUB IS GOING “NUTS”

Optimist pecans will be arriving in Pickens County the first week of November. These pecan halves are fresh and are guaranteed to be this year’s crop. The price of a 12 oz. bag of pecans remains $8.00 with no tax! All money raised by the club through this fundraiser is used to meet their mission of “bringing out the best in kids”. The club supports Pickens County children organizations such as North Georgia Boys and Girls Clubs, Pickens Ferst Foundation for Childhood Literacy, the Joy House, Pickens County Library summer reading program, the Hope House, Pickens County Young Life, Prevent Child Abuse Pickens, the Youth Leadership Program, Youth Enrichment Program and more.

Pecans are being sold at the following locations: Garner Ace Hardware, Shaw Supply, Foothills Ace Hardware, Renasant Banks (both locations), Community Bank of Pickens County (both locations), United Community Bank, R and R Trikes, Atlanta Falcons Physical Therapy, Parish Lowrie State Farm, Bank of North Georgia and all Optimist club members. Employees of Piedmont Mountainside Hospital can also purchase them on site.
