Planning for a Non Corrupt Conservative Future

Opinion by George McClellan: It is not my intention to jinx conservative chances in this upcoming election but, it is becoming increasingly apparent that the majority of American’s are very disenchanted with the continuous lying of our alleged president, his schemes of forcing a socialist America on us and of the liberal politicians that support him. Voters are also distrustful of the GOP so we are at the point, in this next election, where we must do what we must do in the voting booth. Maintaining democrats in office will no longer do.

In the event we do win, conservatives must stay alert and hold the GOP, and our individual representatives in congress, absolutely accountable to the promises they made to restore the authority of Congress, re-establish the competition sought by our founders between the three branches of government, work to return America to a country that observes the rule of law and obey’s it. Reducing the size of government and reforming the tax codes are also promise that must be kept.

So, who will represent us if/when we win? At the moment it will doubtless be John Boehner and Mitch McConnell, happily supported by the special interests lobbyists who fund campaigns and life styles, regardless of which party is in power. Not to be forgotten are the political councilors who advise them (think Karl Rove). But, the conservative base should start immediately, right now, to formulate plans to remove these two big government acolytes from their positions of leadership and install new thinkers as the leaders most favorable to the conservative base. The GOP no longer has a liberal base and the moderates in it stand for nothing.

Viewing the machinations that go on behind the scenes of power, the manipulating hand of lawyers is always visible. Why is it that lawyers consider they would be the best politicians? Why is it that honesty in government is no longer valued? Harry Truman wasn’t a lawyer but he was a damn good war time president. Eisenhower wasn’t a lawyer but his total experience raised him far above the lawyer profession as a great leader. Ronald Reagan wasn’t a lawyer and had the chutzpah to get up and walk out on the Russians during a conference in Iceland. We saw what happened after that. Neither were the ranks of our founders cluttered with a lot of lawyers. Lawyers belong in the judiciary where a knowledge of the law is important, not making them.

The Legislative branch surely requires trained, successful professional people who know and understand economics, history, theology, literature, innovation, entrepreneurship, management, leadership and the value of moral ethics. Obama is a lawyer without ethics and displays none of the other traits so desperately needed in our political leadership. Lawyers, who on average are the least well-educated of all professions, are far less schooled in these important philosophical and historical subjects. They are trained in the school of manipulation of the law and of the truth. We do not need to elect people into office simply because he or she is a lawyer. Worse, to elevate to judgeships lawyers who believe it is their duty to correct the will of the people and strike down laws enacted by the peoples vote, and who rule on the basis of their liberal training, are equally dangerous to a free society.

The same applies to the political professional class, i.e.: career politicians, who have become to believe in their own indispensability of their service. Many have become corrupted by the favors showered upon them by just being in the halls of congress and that must end. Remember, freedom is the goal, the constitution is the way. Now, go get ‘em!
