Louis Richard Briegel: Obituary

Louis Richard Briegel, age 92 of Jasper, GA passed away Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at the Brian Center in Canton, GA.

He is survived by his wife, Deane Gooch Briegel of Jasper; sons, Louis Richard Briegel II of Canton and Michael William Briegel of Branchville, N.J.; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his first wife, Helen (Osborne) Briegel; son, Dale Robert Briegel and “daughter” Carol Roy Pierson.

A U.S. Army veteran stationed at the Pentagon during WWII, “Lou” was a career camping services director for various YMCA’s in Ohio, New York, Pennsylvania and New Jersey before his retirement. Upon retirement he enjoyed collecting and repairing antique clocks. He had previously been active in the Jasper Lions Club and volunteered at the Community Thrift Store.

A private memorial service will be held at a future date at the convenience of the family.

Arrangements are entrusted to the staff of Roper Funeral Home & Crematory in Jasper.
