James R. “Randy” Bates: Obituary

James R. “Randy” Bates, age 62 of Jasper, passed away Friday, August 9, 2019.
Randy was born May 31, 1957 in Charleston, South Carolina.

He is survived by his mother, Marie Bates of Ayden, North Carolina; sisters and brothers-in-law, Debi and Chuck Wright of Columbus, Ohio, Sheree and Tony Parker of Jasper, Georgia; Sarai and Michael Fulcher of Ayden, North Carolina; brother and sister-in-law, Rennie and Stacy Bates of Roanoke, Virginia; and sister-in-law, Melanie of Virginia, nine nieces, six nephews, several great-nieces and nephews and other relatives survive.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Bobbie; father, Rev. Fred W. Bates Jr., and brother, Michael.

A Memorial Service is being planned for a later date.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to American Diabetes Association.
