Juanita Imogene Wilkie: Obituary

Juanita Imogene Wilkie, age 77, of Rachel Drive, Jasper, Georgia, went to be with the Lord on Friday, August 16, 2019 at Northside Hospital Cherokee in Canton, Georgia.

Mrs. Wilkie was born February 5, 1942 in Talking Rock, Georgia, daughter of the late Hoyt Odel Tippens and Rena Mae Cochran Tippens. She was a life long resident of Pickens County and a member of Refuge Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School and sang in the choir. She was a member of the Eastern Star, loved reading and loved books. She wrote many articles that appeared in the Pickens County Progress and Cherokee Tribune. She loved to watch movies while walking on her treadmill. She loved flowers and had a wealth of knowledge about plants and flowers. She was preceded in death by her sister, Betty Jean Tippens.

Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Thomas L. Wilkie of Jasper, GA. Daughter, Charlene (Scott) Youngblood of Jasper, GA; granddaughter, Courtney (Jason) Segers of Talking Rock, GA; step granddaughter, Stephanie (Lloyd) Johnson of Dawsonville, GA; great-grandchildren, Katelyn & Adalyn Segers; step great-grandchildren, Reese, Karys and Landon Johnson; special friend, Betty Youngblood of Jasper, GA; stepmother, Jane Tippens of Jasper, GA; brother, Philip (Julie) Tippens of Gillette, WY; stepbrothers, Tony (Camille) Tippens and Michael (Donna) Tippens both of Jasper, GA, David (Cathy) Tippens and Chris (Lisa) Tippens both of Talking Rock, GA; sisters & brothers-in-law, Janie & Mike Watson, Judy & David Scott; special nieces and nephews Cory (Beth) Watson, Nathan Watson, Rebecca (Shane) Logan, Kathryn (Kyle) Gore, Jeremy (Eileen) Jones; a host of other family and friends.

The family will receive friends Sunday, August 18, from 10:00 AM until 9:00 PM, Monday, August 19, from 8:00 AM until 9:00 PM and Tuesday, 8:00 AM until the funeral hour, at Cagle Funeral Home.

A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, August 20, 2019 at Cagle Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Eddie Parker and Rev. Jimmy Gayton officiating.

Interment will be in Sunrise Memorial Gardens immediately following the funeral service.

Pallbearers will include Mike Watson, Nathan Watson, Corey Watson, David Scott, Jason Segers, Lloyd Johnson, Tony Tippens and Jeremy Jones.
