Harold Wayne “Cabbage” Blackwell: Obituary

Harold Wayne “Cabbage” Blackwell, age 70, of Marble Hill, passed away Monday, January 20, 2020 at Northeast Georgia Medical in Gainesville. He was born June 21, 1949 to Harold and Edith Blackwell in Marble Hill.

He is survived by his wife, Diane Blackwell of Marble Hill; sons and daughters-in-law, Scottie and Ann Blackwell of Marble Hill, Andy and Germanie Blackwell of Marble Hill, Clent and Chelsea Blackwell of Gainesville, Jeffrey and Jody Blackwell of Ellijay, David and Alesia Bennett of Lafayette; daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Jerry Satterfield of Milledgeville; brother, Ronald Blackwell of Marble Hill; sister and brother-in-law, Deborah and Eddy Jones of Marble Hill; sister, Trudy Totherow of Marble Hill; sister, Tammy Blackwell of Jasper; sister, Dawn Blackwell of Ellijay; brother, Kevin Blackwell of Jasper; grandchildren, Harly Lawson, Alisha Lawson, Cayli Marshall, Hunter Herman, Caleb Blackwell, J.T. Bozeman, Jacob Bozeman, Landon Blackwell, Carter Blackwell, Aubrey Hitch, Brady McAbee, Gracelyn Blackwell, Lucas Campbell, Jaden Campbell, Kelvin Waters, Julie Waters, Chloye Blackwell, Olivia Blackwell, Isabella Blackwell, Alexis Satterfield, Blaine Satterfield, Tyler Satterfield, Dorothy Gerrell; eleven great-grandchildren; former wife and her husband, Tracy Cornett and Kelly Cornett; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Funeral Services will be held 2:00 p.m., Friday, January 24, 2020 at Mount Vernon Baptist Church with Reverend Frank Lathery and Reverend Gene Hyde officiating. Interment will follow in the Mount Vernon Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will be receiving friends at Roper Funeral Home, Thursday, January 23, 2020 from 11:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Friday, January 24, 2020 from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.
