Charles Hammontree, age 88, of Ball Ground, passed away Monday, January 27, 2020 at Pruitt Health in Jasper. He was born April 14, 1931 to Charlie and Mary Hammontree.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Sue and Mike Gibbons of Ball Ground; grandson, Charlie Gibbons of Ball Ground; brothers and sister-in-law, Harold and Evelyn Hammontree and Mack Hammontree. Several nieces, nephews, and other relatives also survive.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Edna Reavis Hammontree; sons, Bryan Hammontree and Danny Hammontree.
Services will be held 2:00 p.m., Thursday, January 30, 2020 at Free Hope Baptist Church with Reverend Ted Estes officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will be receiving friends at Roper Funeral Home, Wednesday, January 29, 2020 from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Thursday, January 30, 2020 from 9:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m.
