Mrs. Edna Gilbreath Evans died on October 12, 2014.She was 88 years old. She is survived by her daughter, Dianne Evans Seagrave of Bent Tree; son-in-law, Roger N. Seagrave; granddaughter, Lisa Seagrave Hajj and her husband, James L. Hajj; grandson, Scot Anthony Seagrave and his wife, Danielle E. Seagrave; and six great-grandchildren, Connor, McKenna, Liam, Landon, Lennox, and Leo.

Edna was born in 1926 in Mineral Wells, Texas. She was the daughter of the late Eula and John Gilbreath. She married Lt. Lloyd R. Evans in 1943 and had daughter Dianne. She followed her Army husband from post to post for 28 years, making more than 30 moves. Edna loved to entertain, and was very gifted with table and flower arrangements and decorating her many homes.

After Lloyd retired from the Army in 1970, Edna and Lloyd lived in Columbus, Ohio for 15 years. Lloyd working for Ohio State University. They then moved and lived in Mulberry, Florida for 20 years. In 2004, they moved to Roswell, Georgia to be near their daughter, granddaughter, and two of their great-grandchildren. Since 2011, Edna has lived in Jasper, Georgia at the Grandview Health Care Center.

Edna was a loving wife, sister, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 24, 2014 at the Chapel of Roper Funeral Home in Jasper, Georgia 30143. At 1:00 p.m., Edna will be buried at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Georgia. She will lie with her husband, Lloyd, who passed away in 2007; they were married for 64 years.
