Mrs. Janis Blankenship, age 66 of Jasper and a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church, passed away at Atlanta Piedmont Hospital on Tuesday December 9, 2014.She is survived by her husband; Richard Blankenship of Jasper, sons & daughters-in-law; Tony & Rachel Blankenship of Ellijay, Herbert & Trish Blankenship of Fresno, Calif., brothers; Gary Blankenship of Iaeger, W. Virginia, David Blankenship of Iaeger, W. Virginia, Michael Blankenship of Jamestown, N. Carolina, sisters; Peggy Lahmann of Madison, Wissconsin, Iravanda Maynard of Turkey Creek, Kentucky, grandchildren; Stacy Sales, Richard Blankenship, Olivia Blankenship and 1 great-grandchild; Tenlee Sales.

Mrs. Blankenship was preceded in death by her brother; Perry Blankenship.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday December 12th from 6pm untill 9pm and again on Saturday from 8am until prior to the funeral hour. Funeral services are scheduled for 11am on Saturday at Mount Zion Baptist Church with Rev. Ben Mock officiating. The interment will take place on Monday December 15th at 10am at Georgia National Cemetery located in Canton.
