The Dilemma of the Base

Opinion

Opinion by George McClellan:Americas are now facing a major earthshaking change in world political theory’s: the coming collapse of “Progressive Liberalism” (Marxism) and the return of America to a representative form of government as our Constitution demands, all without plunging us into a great civil war that could very easily destroy us for ever. That is Obama’s hope. In this fight, the Constitution must prevail. The November 4th elections were cataclysmic in shouting out that wanted change and that presents a dilemma for the GOP base.

As GOP Conservatives, we face a side problem: returning the Party to its original conservative principles. Over the past sixty years or so, Americans have allowed progressive socialism to creep into our landscape; in education, by rewriting or ignoring our history, in religion by replacing love for our Lord, with love for government, by replacing our moral code with secularism (I’m okay, you’er okay) that embraces pornography, abortion and perversion as the new norms over decency and common sense.

The base is only now starting to fight back against that long era of America’s slow erosion by progressive ideology. The Democrat party has long been replaced by the progressive (Marxist) movement and has become the sole vehicle of Americas march to socialism. Sadly, the Republican party itself is now over half way to total conversion to progressivism. How to stop it is our dilemma!

The conservative base is slowly realizing the dangers Ronald Reagan alerted us to: “Government isn’t the solution to the problem, Government is the problem!” As we recognize those dangers and attempt to correct them, by the vote, we get flooded by people who tell us they understand our pain and if we simply vote for them they will go to Wash. DC, and straighten that lot out. Once there, the awful truth sets in.

Presently, John Boehner, Mitch McConnell, Johnny Isakson, et. al., fit that description. Fifty years of Republican politicians have beat their heads against the wall of progressivism until they too have slowly changed into the enemy we need to defeat. They call themselves “Moderates.” For all those years after WWII, until Ronald Reagan, Americans, basking in the light of wealth creation, higher standards of living, high employment and a well educated work force, supported by happy family’s with prospect of their children even doing better, didn’t recognize that the conversion was well underway. We were a fat and happy people, satisfied with out lot and our position in the world. Many did warn us!

One problem, of course, was the lack of personal sacrifice and deprivation as Americans families faced in WWII. We lost our focus, until the Tea Party’s, on just what those politician’s up there have been doing to us. All was well, America would never change and, it was so exceptional it could never fail. Or could it?

That time is now upon us. The path to restoration will be slow and painful. Obamacare, despite all the lies about how it helps American’s, has been exposed for what it is, a fraudulent socialist wealth transfer scheme. This current administration is founded on the tenants of Marxism but, Americans are not Marxists and therein lies our other dilemma: how to fight it without igniting that civil war? The embers are glowing.

Newly elected Representatives and Senators will be faced with powerful pressures to tow the party line and follow the path of collaboration set out by the leaders. The problem is that the leaders are still those old, brain dead ‘moderate’ Republicans who serve in the leadership because of seniority not ability. They hate the base and see it as a serious danger to maintaining government control over all society. As such they will make no move to satisfy the base and that’s going to be their dilemma. The base is now in such a stew that any more missteps, like the recent vote for the CR-Omnibus, will only further blow the embers of distrust into a flaming inferno. This level of distrust will most certainly include any moderate (Jeb Bush, Romney, Christi) put forth by the leadership as their candidate to be our President. That will be disastrous for the Republican Party in 2016. Too, it could be a blessing in disguise.

Clearly the progressive-socialist era is coming to an inglorious end. Our job will be first to restore Conservatism to the Republican Party. Remember, freedom is the goal, the Constitution is the way. Now, go get ‘em! (17 Dec 2014)
