KSU Plans for Blue Out

Community

In a team-wide effort to raise awareness for prostate cancer, the Kennesaw State Owls basketball program will be hosting “Code Blue” during their Jan. 25 home game against Mercer, in an effort to raise awareness for prostate cancer. The first 500 fans will receive a free Baby Blue Owls T-Shirt and all fans are encouraged to wear baby blue.
Prostate cancer is the most common form of cancer in men, and is just as common in men as breast cancer is in women. The Owls are dedicating an entire evening during their game with their in-state rivals to raise awareness and to help educate people about this issue. In recognition of the event, the Owls will wear Russell baby blue uniforms during the game.

The American Cancer Society will be on hand to pass out information about support groups for those who have the disease or have loved ones who do.

Tip-off on the 25th is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. All cancer survivors and their family members can receive discounted, five dollar tickets by contacting Pete Brooks at the American Cancer Society at (770)429-0089 ext. 247 or by e-mail at [email protected].
