Mr. Lee Hollifield, age 95, of Jasper, Georgia, died Tuesday, March 22, 2011 at Heritage Healthcare in Jasper, Georgia following a period of declining health.

Born on June 11, 1915 in Gilmer County, Georgia, he was son to the late Harley and Florence Hollifield. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Myrtle Hammontree Hollifield, sons; Sammy Hollifield, Leon Hollifield, Curtis Hollifield and James Hollifield and grandsons; Richard Hollifield and Shane Hollifield. Mr. Hollifield was a self-employed saw miller in the lumber industry.

He was survived by his daughters; Barbara Duncan of Jasper, Georgia and Linda Ingram of Ball Ground, Georgia and his son, David Hollifield of Jasper, Georgia, 19 grandchildren, numerous great- grandchildren and other relatives also survive.

Funeral Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 25, 2011, from the Chapel of Roper Funeral Home; the Rev. Hughey Holloway will officiate with the interment to follow at the Crossroads Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home after 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, all day Thursday and until the funeral hour on Friday.
