Roper Funeral Home of Jasper, Ga., announces the death of Mr. Emmitt Childers, age 84, of Jasper, Ga., who passed away June 7, 2011 at the Heritage Health Care in Jasper, Ga.Mr. Childers remains at Roper Funeral Home where the family will be receiving friends from 7-9 PM Tuesday, Wednesday 11 AM until 10PM and Thursday until the funeral hour.

Funeral service will be 2 PM Thursday at the Chapel of Roper Funeral Home with Rev. Kenneth Kirk officiating. The interment will follow in Sunrise Memorial Gardens.

He is survived by his sons & daughters-in-law: Pat & Debbie Childers, Jasper, Ga., Greg & Debbie Childers, Cumming, Ga. and Norman & Jacqueline Childers, Talking Rock, Ga.; grandchildren: Andrea Childers, Leigh Ann & Jason Williams, Patton Childers, Alyson Childers, Nathan Childers, Michael & Jessica Childers, Sylvia Childers; great-grandchildren: Sam Williams, Luke Williams, Miranda Childers; sister & brother-in-law, Melo & Grady Evans, Jasper, Ga.; brother & sister-in-law Artemus & Ernestine Childers, Canton, Ga., Truman & Wilma Childers, Canton, Ga. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
