Gilmer hosted the annual ETC Summer Baseball Invitational. The Pickens all-star team first played against home all-stars team Gilmer. As the game began, the Dragons are up to bat, as Hunter Herman makes the first hit of the night. As the Dragons continue at the bat, they make three outs and are up to pitch. Hunter Herman, Chase Jarrett, and Andrew Burrell take turns pitching, as well as striking out their opponents.

In the fourth inning, however, Bobcats Ashton Grimes, Cade Evans, Corbin Singleton, and Landon Siniard scored the first points of the game against the Dragons. Dragon Jacob Kirchoff steps up to the plate in the fifth inning to put Pickens on the board as he scores a homerun against pitcher Austin Daman. Though the team worked together well, the final score was 1-9.

The team played another consecutive game, this time against the Fannin Rebels. The Dragons stumble as they attempt to throw the ball from base to base as the Rebels begin to fill the bases, scoring six points against Pickens in the first inning. TC Jarrett steps up to the plate in the first inning, and, due to injury, sat out for the rest of the inning. Teammate Blake Mulkey stepped in to fill Jarrett’s shoes and walks to first base. After his teammates score a few hits, Mulkey receives a homerun for the Dragons. The game ends after four innings of Fannin scoring over the exhausted Pickens Dragons, with a score of 1-17.
