Mrs. Rose Marie Moss, known to everyone as “Boots”, age 80, of Jasper, Georgia, passed away at her home, on Sunday, December 25, 2011 after an extended illness.
Born June 23, 1931 in Atlanta, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Andrew Alvirt Lewis and Julie Haden McKee Lewis. A native of Atlanta, “Boots” previously lived in Oakwood and Stone Mountain before retiring with her husband to Jasper in 1997. She had worked as a secretary for the Fulton County Board of Education. “Boots” was known for her involvement in many local organizations including; AARP, the local Republican Party and the volunteer auxiliary at Piedmont Mountainside Hospital. She was a member of the Jasper United Methodist Church.

Survivors include HER HUSBAND, Thomas (Bill) Moss, of Jasper, Ga.; SONS, Kevin C. Moss (Sue Conley, finance’) of Houston, TX; Randy L. Moss and wife, Regina of Dahlonega, Ga.; GRANDCHILDREN, Emily Moss and Andrew Moss.

Funeral Services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Thursday, December 29, 2011, at the Roper Funeral Home Chapel, the Rev. Preston Jones will officiate with the interment to follow at 12:30 p.m. Thursday at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Georgia.

The family will receive friends at the Roper Funeral Home, 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 28, 2011.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the Jasper United Methodist Church or the American Cancer Society.
