Marble Valley Community Choir to Present Spring Concert

Community

The Marble Valley Community Choir will present its Spring Concert on May 6, 2012 at 3:00 p.m. in the Historic Sanctuary of the Tate United Methodist Church. The public is invited to attend and enjoy inspirational favorites sung by community residents. The Jasper Young Singers will join the Marble Valley Community Choir for the day’s performance.
This newly formed adult community choir began during December 2011 for a downtown Jasper performance during the holiday celebrations. The group continued meeting and performed in February with traditional spirituals in observance of Black History Month. Under the direction of Justin Davis, life-long area resident and Music Director of Tate UMC, the choir has maintained approximately 15 members since it began. The choir recently elected the following officers: Lance Parrish, President; Mary Jo Brown, Secretary; Jeff Bennett, Public relations; Robert McClure, Chaplin.

The Marble Valley Community Choir is a subsidiary of the Creative and Performing Arts Academy located at 95 Whitfield Drive in Jasper (next to Bargain Barn and Alfa Insurance).
