1. Signed National Donate Life Month Proclamation.
2. Approved permit for Construction of a Telecommunication Tower with associated variance
at 2195 Steve Tate Road on Parcel ID: 046D-001 after recommendation by Pickens County
Planning Commission. Construction by American Tower Corporation.
3. Adopted Resolution amending the Pickens County Land Use District Ordinance amending
the Pickens County Land Use Ordinance Map in regard to Parcel 001-006 composed of 28
acres from Agricultural (AG) to Neighborhood Commercial (NC). Property is located on
Old Whitestone Road East and is owned by Charlie Wright. Amendment # 65.
4. Adopted Resolution amending the Pickens County Land Use District Ordinance to grant the
conditional use to allow the installation of solar panels and other equipment necessary to
convert energy from the sun into thermal or electrical energy for purchase by the utility
companies on Parcel 001-006 composed of 28 acres. Requested by Charlie Wright.

5. Signed Georgia Emergency Management Agency – Homeland Security Statewide Mutual
Aid and Assistance Agreement with Georgia Emergency Management.
6. Signed Safety Verification and Safety Policy Statement for a
safety incentive discount with ACCG-Group Self-Insurance
Workers’ Compensation Fund.
7. Adopted Resolution as follows: The building and facilities located at 35 West
Church Street shall be designated as the Pickens County Courthouse. It is hereby
acknowledged that said building and facilities has been used as the Pickens County
Courthouse since November 7, 2011. Any language contained in previous
resolutions which conflict with the foregoing resolution is hereby rescinded. The
Commissioner further resolves that this designation shall be in the best interests of
the public.
8. Adopted Resolution as follows: The building and facilities located at 35 West

7, 2011.
9. Signed Agreement with Rushton & Company of Gainesville, GA to perform Audit
for Pickens County, Georgia for the year ended December 31, 2011.
10. Signed Proclamation proclaiming April as Child Abuse Prevention Month.
11. Signed Contract by and between Pickens County Airport Authority and N.J.
Wilbanks Contractors, Inc. for Industrial Park Taxiway. Contract amount
$695,000.00.
12. Signed contract with Phillips Roofing for roof replacement of Senior Citizens
Center. Contract Price: $17,850.00
13. Signed Proclamation recognizing April 22-28, 2012 as Administrative Professionals
Week and the day of April 25, 2012 as Administrative Professionals Day in Pickens
County.
14. Signed Joint Proclamation by the Sole Commissioner of Pickens County and the
Mayor of the City of Jasper proclaiming April 28, 2012 Health Fair Day in Pickens
County.
15. County abandoned Herzig Lane and therefore by statute property reverts back to
contiguous owner, Ronnie and Lisa Hendrix. Quitclaim Deed signed on April 18,
2012.
16. Signed contract by and between Pickens County Government and New South
Construction Company, Inc. of Atlanta, Georgia for renovations and additions to the
Pickens County Courthouse. Contract amount $9,824,509.00.
17. Adopted Resolution appointing Dr. Leeanna Eaton-Spiva to the Pickens County
Library Board of Trustees to fill the unexpired term of Rhonda F. Freeman, who
resigned. The four year term ends June 30, 2014.
