The Pickens County Sea Dragons Swim Team traveled to Tifton, Ga. to take part in the Georgia Parks and Recreation annual state swim meet. The Sea Dragons, led by head coach Deb Johnson, brought back 21 medals. The girls placed 15th out of 26 teams. The boys placed 17th out of 28 teams, and the two teams combined to place 17th out of 29 teams.June and Terry Phang both garnered two third place finishes. June’s came in the Girls 7-8 25yd Freestyle, and the 25yd Breaststroke; with finals times of 17:16 and 22.98, respectively. Terry’s came in the Boys 11-12 50yd Breaststroke and the 11-12 Boys 100yd IM; with times of 38.45 and 1:17.05, respectively.

Jessica Jones placed third in the 11-12 Girls 50yd Backstroke with a time of 37.28. The Boys 12 and Under 200yd Medley Relay finished third as well with a time of 2:32.01. The relay team members were: Dane Hales; Terry Phang; Victor Lane; Garret Miles; Reed Miles; and Mason Harwood.

Ryan Duffy placed fifth in the Girls 9-10 25yd Backstroke with a time of 18.72. Garret Miles placed fifth as well in the Boys 11-12 50yd Freestyle, with a time of 32.02. The Girls 18 and Under 200yd Freestyle Relay placed fifth. The relay team members were: Ashley See; Hannah McManious; Megan See and Emma Ledingham.

The Girls 10 and Under 100yd Medley Relay placed sixth with a time of 1:17.62. The relay team members were: Ryan Duffy; June Phang; Shannon Johnson; and Reagan Harwood.

Victor Lane placed sixth in the Boys 9-10 100yd IM, and eighth in the Boys 9-10 25yd Butterfly, with times of 1:36.37 and 20.22, respectively.

Dane Hales placed seventh in the Boys 11-12 50yd Backstroke with a time of 39.79.
