Panthers are Victims of Volunteer’s Aerial Attack

Tennessee hosted Georgia State University at Neyland Stadium Saturday afternoon, September 8, 2012.The Vols went in to this game expecting an easy win against a weak opponent, Georgia State.

They were not, however, expecting the Panthers to give them a tough showing in the beginning of the game. Although, the Vols were able to score easily on their first drive, a one yard touchdown run by Rajion Neal, Georgia State threatened multiple times.

Tennessee finally found their defensive niche midway through the second quarter when they stopped Georgia State like they were expected to do the whole game.

This helped Tennessee as they went into the locker rooms leading 28-6.

The Vols continued to find success coming out of the half expanding their lead to 34-6.

Tyler Bray capped off the first team starter’s final drive with a 19 yard touchdown pass to Justin Hunter.

After the starters went out, the second team faced a little adversity, with Justin Worley having his first pass intercepted by a Panther defensive lineman.

The Vols capped off their final drive, with Quenshaun Watson carrying the load and scoring on a two yard touchdown run.

Tyler Bray finished the game 18 of 20 on pass attempts for 310 yards and four touchdowns. Justin Hunter was the benefactor of three of those touchdowns, with the other being a 19 yard reception for a touchdown by Mychal Rivera. The Vols thrashed the Panthers, winning 51-13.
