Explanation of Opportunities

Are You Passionate About Tourism and Pickens County? If so we need you!
We are looking for volunteers to work together to assist in the planning and development of ways to promote our community. Among those volunteers we need marketers, writers, photographers, etc. Our first meeting is scheduled for Monday, November 19th at 10:00 a.m. at the Chamber of Commerce.

If you are unable to attend this meeting please go ahead and respond as we will be setting future meeting dates/times based on everyone’s schedules. Meetings are expected to be bi-weekly to begin with then develop into monthly meetings.

Citizen of the Year Nomination Underway

The Pickens County Chamber of Commerce is currently accepting nominations for the 2013 Citizen of the Year. The Citizen of the Year will once again be announced during the Annual Winter Ball which will be held January 26, 2013 allowing for the Citizen to wear the crown throughout an entire calendar year while making multiple appearances in the community.

“First Fridays” at Chattahoochee Tech
“First Fridays” at Chattahoochee Tech is an opportunity for potential students and parents to get a first-hand view of the college. It’s also a chance to get questions answered regarding admissions, financial aid and more! Six of the 8 campuses will participate: Canton, North Metro in Acworth, Appalachian in Jasper, Mountain View, Marietta and Paulding. Arrive by 10 AM on Friday, November 2nd, or Friday December 7th.
