Talking Rock First Baptist Church Helping Families at Christmas

Religion

For the last four years, Talking Rock First Baptist Church has been compiling lists of families who need help for Christmas. The vision to coordinate volunteers to provide Christmas gifts for families started on a mission trip to West Virginia after we worked on several projects, gave out food, and provided Christmas gifts for families there. We saw a need in our own communities, as many here were hurting also.

In the past, God has graciously provided through generous individuals, churches, and businesses. Many people have already agreed to sponsor this year, and we thank them. We still need sponsors for around 200 children and we are still receiving calls requesting help! Many families are in desperate need – parents who have lost jobs, facing sickness, or have had debilitating accidents, grandparents raising grandchildren and even great grandchildren, single moms striving to make ends meet, even multi-generational families with several families in one home.

Our church has a small congregation with big hearts to love and help others. We are only the instruments used to get the job done. We rely on those who really want to share the joy of knowing the true meaning of the season! We also see it as impossible for us to do alone. With all of us working together, God receives honor and glory.
