Pickens Plays Hard in Tournament, Lose Late

The Pickens Dragonettes tipped off against the Sprayberry Lady Jackets Friday night, decmber 28, 2012. They lost this close game 64-61. The second game saw the Dragons face off against the Raiders of North Forsyth. This matchup was in the Raiders’ favor as they won 65-41.The Dragonettes tipped off against the Lady Jackets at 6:00. The game was close from start to finish. The Nettes only trailed by six by the end of the 1st period.

Strong play by Danielle Goss and co. helped the Nettes take the lead heading into the locker room at the half.

Kadie Mullinax was dead-on from behind the arc, hitting four threes. The play from Mullinax(14 points), Goss(23 points), and Sarah Smith(10 points) helped keep this game close from start to finish.

By the end of the 3rd, Sprayberry was up by five, 49-44.

The Lady Jackets were able to outlast a comeback by the Nettes to win 64-61.

The Pickens Dragons tipped off against the North Forsyth Raiders in the second and final game of the night.

The Dragons kept this game close through the half, only losing 28-21.

At the end of the 1st, the Raiders led by two, 14-12.

Staunch defense and a great all-around game from Shannon Brooks held it close for these Dragons.

This however, would not last as North Forsyth extended their lead to 50-36 at the end of the 3rd and won the game 65-41.
