Ret. SFC Otis W. Morgan, Jr., age 81 of Decatur, Georgia died Friday, January 25, 2013 at the Emory University Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia following a period of declining health.

Born June 22, 1931 in Pickens County, Georgia, he was the son of the late Otis W. Morgan, Sr. and Viola Talley Morgan. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Gwen Lee and two brothers, Jack Morgan and Luther Morgan. Mr. Morgan was a United States Army veteran having served during the Korean Conflict and retired after 24 years of service. In later years, he and his wife Idella owned and operated Morgan’s Seafood in Decatur, Georgia. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge #545 F. &A.M. Prince Hall and was a member of the Friendship Baptist Church in Jasper, Georgia.

Survivors include, HIS WIFE of 56 YEARS, Idella Morgan of Decatur, Ga.; DAUGHTER, Leneva Morgan of Atlanta, Ga.; SONS & DAUGHTERS-IN-LAW, Dennis and Colleen Morgan of Stone Mountain, Ga.; Evan and Elaine Morgan of Lithonia, Ga.; GRANDCHILDREN, Katharina Morgan, Dominique Morgan, Neal Morgan, Evan Morgan, Jr., Christopher Morgan and Imani Morgan; GREAT-GRANDCHILD, Lylah Morgan; SISTERS, Rosa Boyd, Barbara Harris, Joan Jackson and Constance Berry all of Atlanta, Ga.; BROTHERS, Eugene Morgan and Anthony Morgan both of Atlanta, Ga.; Nieces, Nephews and Other Relatives also survive.

Funeral Services are scheduled for 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 29, 2013 from the Friendship Baptist Church in Jasper, Georgia, the Rev. R.S. Thomas, Rev. Scott McClure and Rev. Leo Hampton will officiate with the interment to follow in Norton Cemetery with full military honors by the United States Army.

Mr. Morgan may be viewed after 10:00 a.m., Monday, January 28, 2013 at the Roper Funeral Home in Jasper, Georgia.
