Mrs. Thelma Madeline Word, age 75 of Jasper, Georgia died Wednesday April 3, 2013 at her residence following a period of declining health.
Born November 14, 1937 in Goodland, Indiana, she was the daughter of the later Walter Evan Beasley and Mable May Ginn Beasley. She was also preceded in death by her husband, William Allen “Bill” Word. Mrs. Word had worked as a custodian with the Pickens County Board of Education and was a member of the Ludville Church of Jesus Christ.
Survivors include, DAUGHTERS & SONS-IN-LAW, Charlotte and James Ingram of Jasper, Ga.; Pamela Ledbetter of Jasper, Ga.; Sheila and Jack Woodworth of Florida; Brenda Porter of North Carolina; Debbie and Steve Bennett of Florida; Leslie Carver of Talking Rock, Ga.; SONS & DAUGHTERS-IN-LAW, Ken Word of Newnan, Ga.; Larry and Lisa Word of Florida; William and Marlene Word of Jasper, Ga.; SISTERS & BROTHER-IN-LAW, Melody Paris of Florida; Imogene Tackett of Florida; Betty and Gene Bales of Florida; BROTHER & SISTER-IN-LAW, David and Barbara Beasley of Florida; Numerous Grandchildren, Several Great-Grandchildren, Nieces and Nephews also survive.
Funeral Services are scheduled for 3:00 p.m., Friday, April 5, 2013 from the Roper Funeral Home Chapel, the Rev. Ernest Hughes and Rev. Annette Cross will officiated with the interment to follow in Cherokee Memorial Park in Canton, Georgia.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home after 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, all day on Thursday and until the funeral hour on Friday.
