Mrs. Roxie Pearl Whitfield, age 69 of Ball Ground, Georgia died Monday, May 6, 2013 at the Embracing Hospice in Cumming, Georgia following a period of declining health.

The body remains at Roper Funeral Home where the family will receive friends, 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. on Tuesday, 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. on Wednesday and until funeral time on Thursday.

Born July 27, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Henry Ledbetter and Alice Dodd Ledbetter. Mrs. Whitfield was a homemaker and a member of Pleasant Union Baptist Church.

Survivors include husband Mack Whitfield of Ball Ground, GA, sons & daughters-in-law: Michael and Helen Whitfield of Talking Rock, GA, Don and Angel Whitfield of Jasper, GA, granddaughter: Nickie Whitfield of Jasper, GA, sisters: Martha Fain and Sarah Flossie Davis of Morganton, GA, brothers: Joe Ledbetter of Canton, GA, Jimmy Ledbetter of Tennessee, Ranson Ledbetter of North Carolina, Sherman Ledbetter of Maryland, Charles Ledbetter of Jasper, GA, Veston Ledbetter of Dawsonville, GA, and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral Services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Thursday, May 9, 2013 at the Pleasant Union Baptist Church, the Rev. Gene Tatum will officiate with the interment to follow in the Church Cemetery.
