The Pickens High School athletic department was given the GHSA Sportsmanship Award for Region 7-AAAA on Thursday, rewarding the school’s coaches and administrators for the sportsmanship they presented throughout the year.The GHSA Sportsmanship Award is presented each year to one school in each of the thirty-seven regions that make up Georgia’s high school sports and are voted on by members of the region, showing that the other ten members of the region—Cass, Cedartown, Dalton, Gilmer, Heritage, LaFayette, Northwest Whitfield, Ridgeland, River Ridge, and Southeast Whitfield—have taken notice to the job that the athletic staff at Pickens High has done and felt the need to reward them.

Pickens High School has certainly done a tremendous job at improving the athletics the school currently has and doing so in the correct manner, and this award both reiterates that fact and shows that even more great things are ahead at PHS.
