Mrs. Barbara Forbes Buffalo, age 83 of Canton, Georgia passed away on Monday, June 24, 2013 at her son’s residence at Bent Tree in Jasper following a period of declining health.Mrs. Buffalo was a resident at Emeritus at Riverstone (formerly The Terrace at Riverstone) Assisted Living in Canton. Born August 17, 1929 in Wilmar, Arkansas, she was the daughter of the late Tom Forbes and Irene Archillis Forbes. Mrs. Buffalo was a homemaker and was a member of the New Lebanon Presbyterian Church in Jasper, Georgia.

Survivors include husband, Burt Buffalo of Canton, Ga.; and children: Melissa B. Charbonnet (Pierre) of King George, Va., Lee M. Buffalo (Jeanette) of Jasper, Ga., Julie R. Buffalo (James Baird) of Comer, Ga., Matthew B. Buffalo of Greenville, S.C., Margaret B. Brown (Hart) of Moultrie, Ga., 12 Grandchildren and 7 Great-Grandchildren also survive.

A Celebration of Life will be at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, June 29, 2013 at the New Lebanon Presbyterian Church, Dr. Larry Lewis will officiate with a reception to follow at the Church.

The family will receive friends on Friday, June 28, 2013, 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Episcopal Church of the Holy Family, Parish Hall, 202 Griffith Rd., Jasper, Georgia.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the New Lebanon Presbyterian Church, Memorial Fund, 389 Bent Tree Dr., Jasper, Georgia 30143.
