Ms. Linda Gayle Cox, age 67 of Alachua, Florida died Sunday, July 28, 2013 at her nieces residence in Jasper, Georgia. Born August 10, 1945 in Chamblee, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Guy Herman Cox, Sr. and Beulah Estelle Sexton Cox. She was also preceded in death by sisters, Sara Evelyn Cox, Dorothy Marie Cox and Helen Cox Treadway. Ms. Cox had retired from the University of Florida after 26 years of service, where she worked in medical research. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Alachua, Florida.

Survivors include, HER SON, Jefferey Alan McDuffie Azar of Alachua, Fla.; GRANDCHILDREN, Leia Alexandrea Azar and Lauren Nicole Madden; SISTER, Bettie Cox Hudson of Marietta, Ga.; BROTHERS, Guy Herman Cox, Jr. of Jasper, Ga.; Charles Ray Cox of Dunwoody, Ga.; Several Nieces, Nephews and other relatives also survive.

At her request, Ms. Cox was cremated. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to the charity of one’s choice.
