Married couple’s arrests unrelated

Despite the fact that they are married, John “Jack” Green and Carolyn Diane Green’s recent arrests were in no way related. Sheriff Donald Craig confirmed with FYN there was no connection along with Special Agent Kim Williams of the GBI (Georgia Bureau of Investigation).Williams reported,

“It was coincidental the issues came to the attention of the (Pickens) Sheriff’s Office at the times they did.”

She said in both cases once the allegations came to light, the PSO requested the GBI conduct the investigations.

“Jack” Green’s arrest was executed on November 15 for two counts of illegal possession of a controlled substance after an investigation into his association with a felon. Williams stated she doesn’t foresee any arrests for the person(s) to whom he was obtaining the narcotics for nor would she identify anyone. She did say that the association wasn’t one inside the jail facility.

Diane Green was taken into custody on November 25 for theft by taking, allegedly from the Sheriff’s Department’s Auxiliary Unit, a non-profit unit that assists the sheriff’s department and the community. Ray Jackson, auxiliary unit president, declined to comment.

Mrs. Green was also working as a parapro at Hill City Elementary but has tendered her resignation from that position per Superintendent of Education Dr. Lula Perry. At the next Board of Education meeting they will have to accept that resignation before it becomes final.
