Pickens County is busy preparing for the winter system headed our way. Various agencies have been in meetings all day making plans to begin their assault on what could turn out to be worse than the last round we had.County Road crews are already pre-treating main thoroughfares and officials are diligently watching for changes in the current models, per County Commissioner Rob Jones. He stated they are ready to get emergency operations rolling if needed including getting the emergency shelter activated.

Pickens County Schools have already taken the precautionary measure of closing for tomorrow.
