Mrs. Cheryl Faye Roper, age 61 of Fairmount, Georgia (Pickens County) passed away on Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at her residence, surrounded by her loving family. Born May 8, 1952, she was the daughter of the late, Henry Welchel and Bonnie Barrett Whelchel. Mrs. Roper was a homemaker.

Survivors include, HER HUSBAND, Jimmy Roper of Fairmount, Ga.; DAUGHTER & SON-IN-LAW, Lisa and Lee Stewart of Armuchee, Ga.; SONS & DAUGHTERS-IN-LAW, Michael and Tammy Roper of Talking Rock, Ga.; Christopher and Linda Roper of Waleska, Ga.; 5 GRANDCHILDREN; SISTERS & BROTHERS-IN-LAW, Betty Gailey of Canton, Ga.; Carol and Rodger Cain of Cumming, Ga.; Gaynelle and Ronnie Gay of Gainesville, Ga.; BROTHERS & SISTERS-IN-LAW, Kenneth and Carolyn Welchel of Canton, Ga.; Earl and Corrine Welchel of Stockbridge, Ga.; David and Bonnie Welchel of the Yellow Creek Community; Several Nieces and Nephews also survive.

Funeral Services are scheduled for 8:00 a.m., Friday, February 21, 2014 at the Roper Funeral Home Chapel, the Rev. Phillip Taylor and Rev. Jerry Johnson will officiate with the interment to follow at 10:00 a.m., Friday at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Georgia.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home after 2:30 p.m. on Thursday.
