Miss Everleen McCowan, age 80 of Jasper, GA died Friday, February 28, 2014 at Piedmont Mountainside Hospital in Jasper. Everleen was born on October 15, 1933 in Chambers County Alabama to the late Henry & Hattie McCowan. She was a longtime resident of Grandview Nursing Home, Everleen loved to fish, trips to the lake to feed the ducks, visits to the apple orchard, and was loved by so many people.

She leaves to cherish her memory, one sister, Idella Morgan, Decatur; one brother, Charles McCowan, Athens; three sisters-in-law, Helen McCowan, Jasper; Doris McCowan, San Diego, Calif; and Marion McCowan, West Virginia; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends also survive.

She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, John L. McCowan, Booker T. McCowan, Melvin McCowan, and Truman McCowan, and one sister, Dorene Brightwell.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 8:00am to 5:00pm and on Wednesday from 8:00am until the Graveside Service.

Services are scheduled for 12:00pm Wednesday, March 5, 2014 at Sunrise Memorial Gardens with Rev. Scott McClure and Rev. Leo Hampton officiating.
