Last night, the Nettes Fast Pitch Softball team hosted the Lady Bruins of Northwest Whitfield in a region game. Sr., Kayla Howard took the mound for the Nettes and behind some nice plays by the defense, got out of the top of the 1st inning quietly. It would be the Nettes turn to come up as freshman Shae Chadwick got things started with a seeing eye single and a steal of 2nd. Howard would then come up with two outs and send one over the center field fence helping her own cause and giving her team a 2-0 lead after the 1st.The Lady Bruins would get a solo shot in the top of the 2nd to cut the Nettes lead in half but that would be all they would get and the Nettes would move a runner to third but couldn’t bring her in and the score would remain 2-1 headed to the 3rd. Runners left on base would be the story of this ball game as well as the pitching for both teams.

The Nettes defense starred as well making several SportsCenter Top Ten plays to keep the lead and preserve the win for Howard and the Nettes. Howard would get the complete game win and had two hits and two RBI which proved to be the game winning runs.

The Nettes will start a back-to-back-to-back road trip on Tuesday, September 23rd at Cartersville, then Wednesday the 24th at East Hall, and wrapping it up Thursday the 25th at LaFayette before finally coming back home to play host to Southeast Whitfield on the 30th.
