Nettes Win Third Straight Have Eyes Set On Undefeated Lady Cats

Last Tuesday, The Nettes were back in action as they hosted the Lady Generals of Heritage in region action in the Dragons Den. Pickens, coming off a non region win against West Hall, looked to continue their good play and move above .500 on the season and stay perfect in region play. The Nettes were able to do just that.

The Nettes would jump out early on the Lady Generals in the first quarter opening up an 11 point lead, 19-8, headed to the 2nd quarter. Pickens outscored Heritage in the 2nd quarter 20-13 to take a 39-21 lead into the half. The Nettes would continue to outscore the Lady Generals 14-8 in the 3rd to hold a 53-29 lead headed to the 4th and final quarter. Heritage would outscore Pickens in the 4th, 23-20, but it wasn’t enough as the Nettes went on to take this one 73-52 for their third straight win.

Pickens on the season is 4-3 overall and 2-0 in 7AAAA play

Leading the way Tuesday evening for the Nettes were:

Haley Kalson: 13 points, 12 assists, 4 rebounds, and 3 steals

Ashley Nelson: 9 points and 5 rebounds

Makayla Payne: 8 points, 2 assists, 2 rebounds, and 2 steals

Three other Nettes would finish with 8 points on the night

Pickens now will turn their attention to their rival, the undefeated Lady Cats of Gilmer. Tip off for this big match up is scheduled for 7:30 Friday night at PHS.
