Mr. John Ray, age 83, of Tate passed away Wednesday, February 04, 2015 at Embracing Hospice in Cumming, GA.

Mr. John Ray, age 83, of Tate passed away Wednesday, February 04, 2015 at Embracing Hospice in Cumming, GA.

He was born in Fannin County to the late Iverson and Inez Ray. He proudly served his country by serving in the United States Army during the Korean War. He then worked for Georgia Marble Company in Tate.

He is survived by his wife, Helen Ray of Tate; daughters and sons-in-law, Connie and Gary Pendley of Cumming, Diane and Carlton Pendley of Marble Hill, Sandy Boling of Tate; grandchildren, Christy and Dwight Reynolds of Marble Hill, Kim and Tommy Gheesling of Cumming, Chris and Dedra Boling of Jasper, Jacob Boling of Tate; great grandchildren, Karley and Garrett Reynolds of Marble Hill; sister and brother-in-law, Tom and Rethel Martin of Mineral Bluff. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

John was preceded in death by son-in-law, Sid Boling.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m., Friday, February 6, 2015 at the Chapel of Roper Funeral Home with Reverend Tom Martin and Reverend Kathy Howard officiating. Interment will follow at Lake Forest Memorial Park.

The family will be receiving friends at Roper Funeral Home from 10 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. Thursday, February 5, 2015 and Friday, February 6, 2015 from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour.
