Opinion article by Ken Herron:If a man spoke to ten thousand people and told them a story about his new car would anyone believe him? Suppose he said that he was digging in his back yard and found something shiny and when he very carefully dug it up it was a new car. Suppose he said that it was wrapped in plastic film which protected the paint and when he opened the door it had a “new” smell. It had leather seats with power adjustments. It had power windows, air conditioning and a heating system. It had eight cylinders with fuel injection. It had an automatic transmission. It had a radiator with a cooling system. It had rubber tires and magnesium wheels. It had a power braking system and power steering. It had an on board computer with a rear camera and a digital speedometer. It had a built-in Global Placement System. All of the wiring was with rubber covered copper wires. It was full of gasoline and the battery was charged. Its appearance was like one of the models of a current automobile manufacturer. His story was that this car was not manufactured in a factory. It was not even designed. It happened over thousands of years by accident. Could he get one person out of the ten thousand to believe his story? I would not believe it and neither would any of you.

On the other hand, intelligent people can look at the human body and conclude that it evolved over millions of years. Every part of an automobile was designed by trial and error until each system was perfected. We used to have a group of people that we called shade tree mechanics who had little education but they could fix just about anything on an automobile. Even our best medical professionals cannot explain how most of the body actually works. The best computers pale in comparison to the human brain. Just the vision part of humans that is confined to the head is more complicated than the entire automobile. Our eyes take in an image of something we encounter. The image goes to the back of the eye upside down in each eye. Nerves carry this complete image from each eye to the brain where the two images are combined and turned right side up in our brain. The image is compared to other images stored in our brain so that we recognize the objects that we are seeing. Our memory holds the image of the people we know and the places that we have been and the objects we have seen so that we recognize the current image immediately. Its volume of visual records is unlimited. There is no way the visual part of our body was not specifically designed. Vision is no accident. It was not designed by trial and error.

Our automobiles take one fuel and convert it into energy. Our human bodies require a number of elements to operate properly. The mouth receives both liquid and solid foods. It passes to the stomach where the digestion and separation begins. As the food passes through the intestines various elements are separated and passed into the blood to carry them to the organs and cells that need them. The excess fluids pass through the kidneys for extra separation and then into the bladder where it is eventually passed out of the body. The solid foods continue through the intestines and the waste is eventually passed out of the body. Air is breathed into the lungs where the oxygen is removed and put into the blood stream to combine with the other elements that have come from the food. A pump called the heart operates continually to circulate the blood and elements to the cells and organs where they are needed. This system did not happen by accident. It was specifically designed to perform exactly the way it operates. Our hearing, taste and smell are all brain related and did not happen by accident. Our bodily mobility using our legs, arms and eyes to propel our bodies to the location that we desire are other functions that were specifically designed. We also do not breed two cars to create a new baby car. Humans have a feature called “Life” which cannot be created by man. Humans were created by God with all of the organs necessary to live our lives.

Suppose we were trying to explain man’s existence based on accidental creation over time. All of our bodily functions are so interwoven we know that none of the parts could work alone. Which part would be developed first? You could not do anything without the brain but the brain cannot operate without blood and the blood requires the heart and the blood could not furnish the elements needed in the brain without the digestive system. The human being was created all at one time by a supernatural designer named God.

Believe this: “In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth”. We were created some time after this occurrence.
