The Holy Spirit Revealed, Part Two
Religion May 11, 2015
Stay with me now, and I will break down every gift of the Holy Spirit and show you how they operate, and help you to receive them.
Luke11:13, Jesus said. ”How much more will the Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask”. That would tell me that Jesus thinks we need more. Are you asking? For our own benefit we need to know how to get the Holy Spirit to do the things for us that Jesus said he would do, and that is exactly what the Holy Spirit wants to do for you.
He wants to keep the face of Jesus always before you. You can learn all about Jesus, but only through the Spirit can you truly know Him, but you can receive more of Jesus now by the revelation of the Holy Spirit.
Just as the Father loved us so much that He sent His precious Son, The Lord Jesus, to redeem us, and teach us so that we could come into His presence by having our sins washed away and coming out of darkness into the light of life.
So now, Father God has sent His Holy Spirit that was in and upon Jesus, to lead, guide, teach, and comfort us in all that Jesus accomplished while He was on the earth. The Holy Spirit is also the power and authority of Jesus. The Holy Spirit speaks for Jesus to work out all that you have learned about Jesus through your life.
The Holy Spirit brings to us the ability to live out the new, resurrected life that we have in Jesus. John the Baptist was filled with the Holy Ghost from his mother’s womb, before Jesus was ever born, just for the purpose of revealing and testifying of Jesus to the world. This is the first time God, the Holy Ghost, has really been introduced to the world, as one that dwells in you. He was never introduced that way in the Old Testament. John could not reveal, or testify of Jesus without having the Holy Ghost because he can only be revealed by the Spirit. Like I said, neither can you apart from the Spirit. He is the one that reveals Jesus. Elisabeth, Mary, and Zachariah all prophesied after the Holy Ghost moved in the baby, John the Baptist.
The King James Bible used the word Holy Ghost 62 times in the New Testament, and not one time in the old. Do you know why? Some people have a hard time with the word, Holy Ghost, but an angel spoke to me one time and his first words were this, “the Holy Ghost said”, and then he began to talk to me about the fire of God. I have often wondered why he used the words, Holy Ghost, so I guess I am just not quite ready to trash the words yet.
There is much said in the Bible about The Spirit, and spirits, so I wanted to break it down for you. We need to understand the difference between God, the Holy Ghost, and other spirits mentioned many times in the Bible. Luke said that The Lord Jesus was moved and operated by the Holy Ghost.
Acts1:1-2 “The former treatise have I made, O Theophilus, of all that Jesus began both to do and teach, Until the day in which he was taken up, after that He, through the Holy Ghost had given commandments unto the apostles whom He had chosen”
Acts10:38 Peter told Cornelius: “How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.”
All the authority and power that Jesus operated in while on the earth was by the Holy Ghost. When Jesus was resurrected, The Father sent the Holy Ghost, in the name of Jesus, to empower us, and to build and carry on the Kingdom until Jesus returns for us. Jesus said, “If I don’t go away the Spirit won’t come unto you, but if I depart I will send Him unto to you.”
John15:26-27 “But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceeded from the Father, He shall testify of me:” That, my friend, tells me that He has a voice, and that He uses it to testify of The Master. Are you hearing His voice? Are you listening?
John16:13 Jesus said, “When He, the Spirit of truth, is come, He will guide you into all truth: for He shall not speak of Himself; but whatsoever He shall hear, that shall He speak: and He will show you things to come”. Are you looking for what’s coming? Jesus said to His disciples, ”and ye also shall bear witness;” we are, now, through the power of the Holy Spirit, His witness, His temple and His voice. Now that your spirit is alive again by the new birth, He wants to become very active in, and through you.
1Cor12:3 “No man can say That Jesus is Lord but by the Holy Ghost.” No man can know Jesus apart from the Holy Spirit, because, He isThe Revealer of Jesus. The better you know the Holy Spirit, the more He can teach you about Jesus. Remember now, getting saved and baptized, and being filled with the Spirit are two different things. When you are born again your old dead spirit comes alive, and then you are sealed with the Holy Spirit until the day of redemption. The words, I baptize you in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost means that you now belong to the Father by being washed in the blood of His precious Son, and you are now sealed by His Holy Spirit: marked for God and set apart. You are zip locked in until the day of redemption. (Eph. 4:30)
When the Lord Jesus sent Ananias to Paul, he was filled with the Holy Ghost before he was baptized. When Peter went to Cornelius, he also got filled before he was baptized.
Acts9:17 “And Ananias went his way, and entered into the house; and putting his hands on him said, Brother Saul, the Lord, even Jesus, that appeared unto thee in the way as thou came, hath sent me, that thou might receive thy sight, and be filled with the Holy Ghost. And immediately there fell from his eyes as it had been scales: and he received sight forthwith, and arose, and was baptized.”
Acts10:44-48 (Peter at Cornelius’s house) ”While Peter yet spoke these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word.” And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost.
For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God. Then answered Peter can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we? And he commanded them to be baptized. Were you astonished when the Holy Ghost fell on you? If not, go back for more. Notice that they were filled before they were baptized.
Acts11:15-16 ”Peter said, and as I began to speak, the Holy Ghost fell on them as on us at the beginning. Then remembered I the word of the Lord, how that he said, John indeed baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost”. Peter is saying that something happened here just like it did at Pentecost. Did something like this happen when you filled out a card, raised your hand, or walked the isle? Remember my friend, if nothing happened, nothing happened. Then remembered “I the word of the Lord, how that he said, John indeed baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost”. Are you really?
Spiritual Gifts: are they for today, are they for you, and how do they operate? How do you get them? Are tongues the real deal, or a joke? If they are real, do you need them? Stay with me, I will explain all of the gifts and show you how they work, and how you get them. If I can help you, or pray for you I will be glad to do it. [email protected]
