Pickens County, GA – The Sheriff’s Office of Pickens County has released an update on the grave site vandalism at Antioch Baptist Church on Antioch Church Rd just west of Talking Rock. After reviewing evidence and forensics, the Sheriff’s office has said the vehicle was burgundy in color and based upon a forensic examination of paint chips left on the scene, they are consistent with a Chevrolet / GMC.
Based on the measured width of the wheelbase, it is consistent with a full-size truck or SUV. The vehicle had either positive traction or four-wheel drive to allow it to leave the scene in the way that it did.
In order to help in the search, they stated the vehicle will have noticeable body damage with the paint that was scraped off, but there is no evidence indicating a broken tail or head light.
In the post to their Facebook page, the Sheriff’s Office once again asked for the public’s help,
“If you have any information or know of the location of a vehicle fitting this description, we urge you to contact Detective Farmer at 706-253-8935.”
