Opinion by George McClellan:Perspective, on any social issue, depends on one’s experience. At the moment, America’s white society fears black crime but it can’t be discussed because of political correctness. Nonsense of course but sadly, Dylann Roof changed our perspective and has opened the dialogue.

Today, on PBS Radio, I listened what passed as thoughtful commentary of white American’s mistaken belief that they had black crime to fear. We’ve heard these arguments before, blaming lack of jobs, hunger and white racism as the root cause of black violence. Repeating again and again after years of experience to the contrary, that the white race is responsible for the black plight is like entering a second marriage after a divorce, an exercise in hope over experience.

Black crime, against everybody, black, Asians and whites, is statistically bound in the fabric of the black and white experience and cannot be minimized. It’s likewise reflected in our prison populations and our graveyards. That too cannot be denied.

It’s amazing how, from a societies perspective, black American cities look just like the failed societies of present day African countries when the tribes, now cities of America, having had every opportunity to advance socially, educationally and economically based on about six trillion dollars of focused tax payer assistance over the past fifty years, have turned into places of burned out desolation. Presumably all that white money was meant to keep the blacks in slavery facing a hopeless abyss of misery and despair.

No, the problem is a black cultural one and it’s in the urban cities where the problems can only be solved. Whites cannot solve the problem, we can only try to stay out of the way. Black education is the primary obstacle they must overcome. In 2008, parents in black neighborhoods in Washington, DC, strived to enroll their children into new Charter Schools. It promised to be a great program and what did our new alleged President do? He bowed to the teachers unions and pulled Federal funding.

Charter Schools elsewhere hold lottery drawings each year to select candidates from the hundreds of applicants for enrollment in their successful schools. These have been televised and while the non-selectee’s depart in anguished tears, they don’t burn the school down. There’s just not enough room even for the very talented. Why should that be?

The answer lies in the dysfunctional single parent family, a socially engineered creation of Progressive-Liberalism. A child before age five, needs to be surrounded by positive literature and read to. It is not a white racist problem that most great literature was written by white Europeans. The blacks must get over it. If a child is not schooled in the alphabet and simple reading by age five, then the rest of his/her education will be limited to the third grade level, forever. That’s the basic functional educational level of our prison populations. It is even the level recorded by employment sources of non qualified and unskilled job seekers.

Dr. Ben Carson and Dr. Condeleesa Rice, among many others, are prime examples of blacks who left the Liberal plantation, pushed on by a sacrificing parent to achieve on their own. Their remarkable stories should be read. Their record of American achievement is be praised. Their perspective on societies advancement, as races together, is to be admired. Their positive attitude should be emulated and, no white American held them back. Happy Fathers Day!

Remember, freedom is the goal, the Constitution is the way. Now, go get ‘em! (21 June 2015)
