Luke 7:12 “So whatever you wish that others would do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets.”

Lord Jesus Christ, you taught us as your disciples to have a new attitude toward our fellow men. You desire us to not only do no harm to others, but you want us to make an effort to recognize the dignity of every person. We are to even go out of our way to see to their well being. We are not just to do what the law allows, but what compassion demands. We are to help as we would want to be helped. We are to forgive as we want to be forgiven.

Remind us that so much of the Christian walk is not just getting ourselves straight, but actively pursuing an investment in the lives of others. We are to seek their salvation and tell them of the glorious hope that we have found. We are to desire that their burdens be lifted by offering to help carry the load.

Bless this person who now prays with the joy of doing good to someone today.
