Mardi Gras in the Mountains Crowns 2025 King and Queen

PICKENS COUNTY, Ga. – Mardi Gras in the Mountains proved to be a huge success again, raising donations for Georgia Mountains Hospice and crowning a new King and Queen at the annual gala that was held on March 1, 2025.
The nominations for King and Queen, along with the gala charity event, helped raise a significant amount for Georgia Mountains Hospice to ‘provide compassionate care to patients and their loved ones before, during, and after the end of life.’
David Simmons and Karrie Poole were celebrated as the newly crowned King and Queen of Mardi Gras in the Mountains.
The combined nominees from Pickens, Cherokee, and Gilmer counties raised $91,835.52.
