PRESS RELEASE- The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) has requested the Pickens High School sign be removed from the easement for the purposes of constructing a roundabout at the intersection of Dragon Drive and Highway 53. The Pickens County School District does not own the land where the sign is located and has been in discussion with GDOT over multiple years regarding both the PHS sign and the roundabout. Our sign will be removed on March 28, 2025 and will be reconstructed after the completion of roadwork.
