Mr. Joseph John Moylan, age 80, of Jasper, Georgia, died Friday, March 18, 2011 at the Piedmont Mountainside Hospital in Jasper, Georgia following a period of declining health. Born June 8, 1930 in Chicago, Illinois, he was the son of the late William R. and Nellie McCormack Moylan. Mr. Moylan was a U.S. Navy veteran having served during the Korean Conflict, had worked 18 years as an administrative officer with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation and was of the Catholic faith.

Survivors include, his wife of 50 years, Rosemary Moylan of Jasper, Ga.; daughter, Judith Anne Flick of Baldwinsville, N.Y.; two sons, Stephen M. Moylan of Jasper, Ga., and Brian P. Moylan of Woodstock, Ga.; grandchildren, Austin Flick, Heather Flick, Arin Moylan, Ana Moylan and Zoe Rose Moylan. Other relatives also survive.

Funeral Services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 23, 2011, at the Roper Funeral Home Chapel, Deacon Lloyd Sutter will officiate with the interment to follow at 12:30 p.m., at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Georgia with military honors by the U.S. Navy.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home, 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 22, 2011 with a Wake Service beginning at 8:00 p.m.
